At a glance.
Requesting the complete book or buying its printed edition does not subscribe you to a newsletter or marketing list. QuantJourney research and updates require a separate optional checkbox.
Scope and controller.
This policy applies to quant-interviews.quantjourney.cloud, its PDF-delivery form, printed-edition checkout and delivery-details form, and optional QuantJourney research and updates. QuantJourney, based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, is responsible for this processing. Questions and privacy requests can be sent to [email protected].
What we process and why.
One-time PDF delivery
When you request the complete book, we process the email address, optional starting chapter, request time and operational delivery records needed to queue, secure and troubleshoot the message. The book website keeps its access registry separately from QuantJourney product databases; email addresses in that registry are encrypted and a keyed reference is used to recognize repeat requests. The purpose is to perform your request and deliver one page containing all fourteen chapter PDFs. This flow does not create a marketing subscription.
PDF access activity
The email may contain a personalised access link. When that link is used, our local book registry records that the download page was opened and the identifier of each chapter PDF requested, together with timestamps and aggregate counts. This lets us show access history, diagnose delivery problems and understand which chapters are useful. The access token is carried in the URL fragment, is removed from the visible address after the page loads and is stored by the local book registry only as a keyed hash. This book-level measurement does not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics, and the registry does not store an IP address or user agent with the access event. A download event means that a chapter link was requested; it does not establish that the file was read. If a personalised link is shared, activity through that link may be attributed to its original recipient.
Printed editions
Stripe processes the checkout and payment card information for a printed edition. QuantJourney does not receive or store card numbers, CVC values or other card details. After Stripe confirms a completed payment, our encrypted local order registry processes the Stripe checkout reference, customer email, verified payment time, amount and currency. We then ask for the buyer’s name, delivery address and, if supplied, telephone number solely to fulfil the printed order, answer delivery questions, process refunds or resolve related records. We do not infer marketing consent from a payment or delivery details.
Optional QuantJourney research and updates
If—and only if—you select the optional checkbox, we record the choice, exact checkbox text and consent version, privacy-notice version, timestamps and source. We also record the manual import batch and date so an address is not exported repeatedly. We periodically import selected addresses into the QuantJourney newsletter list hosted by Substack, from which you may receive quantitative research and occasional updates. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Technical operation and security
Hosting, payment, email and security systems may process request metadata such as IP address, user agent, timestamps and diagnostic logs to operate the site, prevent abuse and investigate delivery or security failures. Those infrastructure logs are separate from the encrypted book access and printed-order registry described above.
Choice, legal basis and control.
One-time delivery and printed-order fulfilment are processed because you ask us to provide the book or deliver the printed edition. Limited access measurement supports delivery, record integrity and improvement of the book on the basis of legitimate operational interests. Optional QuantJourney research and updates rely on your separate affirmative choice. Operational security and record integrity may also rely on legitimate operational needs, subject to applicable law.
You can withdraw newsletter consent at any time through the unsubscribe link in those messages. Doing so does not affect a PDF delivery or printed order already requested.
Sharing and international processing.
We use Stripe for payments, and service providers for hosting, infrastructure, transactional email delivery, logging and security. They process data only to provide those services under their applicable contractual and security controls. Systems or providers may operate in countries other than yours; where required, we use appropriate safeguards for those transfers.
We do not sell your email address or delivery details. We may disclose information where required by law, to protect rights or systems, or in connection with a legitimate corporate reorganisation subject to appropriate safeguards.
Retention.
PDF-delivery, access-event and security records are kept only as long as reasonably needed to complete delivery, understand use of the public-review edition, diagnose failures, prevent abuse and meet legal or recordkeeping obligations. Printed-order and fulfilment records are kept only as long as reasonably needed to fulfil the order, provide support, process refunds, prevent fraud and meet tax, accounting or other legal obligations. Newsletter-consent and import-batch records are kept only as long as needed to operate the list, respect unsubscribe or deletion requests, prevent repeated imports and meet legal or recordkeeping obligations.
Your rights.
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability or objection, and may withdraw consent. You may also complain to the competent data-protection authority. Send a request to [email protected]; we may need to verify that the address is yours before acting.
Changes and contact.
We may update this policy when the book site or processing changes. The effective date above identifies the current version. For privacy questions or requests, email [email protected].
